General description

The Lead incident manager (LIM) is responsible for a professional and effective management of incidents with impact on customer Deutsche Telekom (DT IT). He is managing and coordinating all necessary activities and IT operations (ITO) delivery units involved in the service chain to resolve incidents as fast as possible.


In the event of critical incidents (lead incident case in event of critical and high customer business impact), the fastest possible, transparent restoration though assumption of incident coordination across the ITO lines for customer DT IT.
Establishment of a “projectized” organization which largely involves all technical teams at ITO which are needed to resolve the incident.
Communication with DT IT Leitstand (notification and escalation).
Coordinates the conference calls for status updates and decisions about the concrete proceeding for the incident restoration.
Responsible for incident communication, the interface to the customer DT IT and integration of the MoD in ITO.
Responsible for the root cause analysis and for the implementation of sustainable solutions. He makes sure that the lessons learnt information will be provided via the T-Systems knowledge management systems (Q-Base, Best Guide, Wiki).
Provides recommendations to responsible process managers to improve the processes based on experience and lessons learnt.
The focal point in ITO for customer DT IT in a situation where the customer is extremely alarmed and sensitive.
Leads the operational teams for the restoration of the affected service. He has full authority over all involved delivery units
Communicates with senior management of ITO.
Acts as a senior manager and is able to lead the team in a very critical moment for the customer and ITO in a professional way.

- High School / University degree
- At least 3 years experience in an IT function
- Deep and practical Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) knowledge
- Deep knowledge of T-Systems production processes and organizational structures
- Very good knowledge of Production services
- Windows, Unix/Linux
- Storage
