Finance Director

Our client is the world’s leading Jewish humanitarian assistance organisation confronting poverty and crisis around the world. They are looking for a committed Finance Manager with considerable accounting experience to help them setup a new foundation in Hungary. Key Responsibilites

The Finance Manager will take responsibility for budget and finance control of its direct operations in Hungary. Perform planning, analysis, reporting and budgeting activities in order to set standards, measure actual performance and take corrective action.

Tasks:
  • Support the process of creating the new Foundation and set-up of the operations
  • Work out financial and accounting procedures for the new Foundation
  • Review relevant taxation aspects
  • Monitor actual performance against the budget, by program
  • Plan budgeting process, collect data necessary for budgeting process
  • Management of detailed budgets of activities and programs (preparation of budgets and follow-up on
performance of budgets)
  • Assist local managers in controlling their expenditures against budgets
  • Ensure the transparency of all financial processes
  • Tracking of funds received from organizational headquarters in accordance with the approved annual
budget
  • Provide timely and reliable financial information to management
  • Collection and reporting of financial data according to organizational standards
  • Preparation of periodic reports (monthly, quarterly, annually) using appropriate organizational tools
  • Preparation of reports (financial, budget, performance by program, etc.) as per organizational
requirements
  • Management of bank accounts (tracking, making payments, reporting)
  • Function within a matrix system, working both with regional CFO and finance team, and with local office

Requirements

  • Chartered accountant
  • Economic University or Accounting College degree or other relevant field
  • Experience in the preparation and control of budgets - experience in working with Excel
  • Experience in non-profit organization - an advantage
  • Experience in a global organization – an advantage
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Hungarian accounting and taxation rules
  • Ability to manage time and tasks
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Communication relationship-building skills
  • Strong English skills
  • Precise, proactive, trustable person
  • Ability to work in a team and also independently.
