Strategic Sourcing and Programme Manager

Our multinational client, one of the leading innovators in materials science, is looking for a Strategic Sourcing and Programme Manager

Key Responsibilites

Identify and develop best-in- class value propositions for resin procurement and waste management cost recovery;

Scope, lead, participate, and implement stakeholder and BU driven projects;

Process and prepare the day-to- day operations and reporting obligations and presentation material;

Collaborate with designated Subject Matter Experts, Project Leaders , Category Owners, and Strategic

Sourcing Managers on assigned resin and waste management projects, including the preparation and

solicitation of competitive bids, quotations, and proposals with pertinent specifications, terms and

conditions that provides advantages to Corning Businesses;

Support the Resin and Waste Management Category Councils and implement respective Global

Strategies;

Support progress, rollout & implement principals of Waste Management principles: Less Waste, Pay Less,

Earn More by applying Elimination, Value Optimization, Transformation, and Sustainability drivers.

Own, maintain & develop comprehensive portfolio covering current & future cost-optimizing opportunities;

Develop & ensure procurement risk mitigation plan for overall portfolio in alignment with stakeholder requirements;

Quarterly Business Reviews monitoring both

commercial & operational performances, benchmarked against SRM metrics;

Develop supplier network in response to global capacities (incl. emerging markets);

Consolidate and manage harmonized regional spend analytics;

Lead the critical analysis of global supply intelligence reports for assigned commodities (incl. relevant trade

market intelligence reports, commodity price indices, up/down stream petrochemical market cycles, global

market trends, and geopolitical factors) to then develop and communicate, to stakeholders, fact-supported

accurate should-cost modelling, competitive-cost sourcing, forecasting reports;

Identify key stakeholders within the value-chain, including strategic consortium partners, and develop leveraged spend opportunities;

Observe regulatory compliance requirements (incl. documentary), and monitor and advise potential
impacts to BU of new and emerging legislations;

Develop, maintain and execute Shared Objectives and Service Level Agreements;

Champion and advocate compliance to the Corning Global Buying Policy;

Communicate positively and constructively with team members locally and globally.Reporting to the Global

Category Director –Resins, Waste Management, & Trading, within the Global Supply Management

organization, this role will lead the strategic sourcing and procurement activities for the Resin and Waste

Management categories covering the EMEA region, lead and support selected global initiatives, as well as manage the related global portfolio activities.

The role will also extend into the area of opportunistic buy/sell by leveraging tools, transactional models and processes delivered by the Trading Centre of Excellence.

This position is located in Budapest, but hosted by Global Supply Chain Management Services

Business language with Corporate is English.

The successful incumbent will have extensive category management (direct materials), waste management
experience, as well as high degree of business acumen, able to leverage opportunity with risk mitigation,

Requirements

Fluent English;

Strong business acumen;

Results driven and process oriented;

Supply Chain, Strategic Sourcing, Procurement;

Strong market understanding of specialty and commodity polymer and petrochemical industry and waste management cost recovery optimization

Category portfolio and project management;

Commodities trading modalities, trade-financing instruments;

Developed strategic, analytical, negotiation, contracting, and risk mitigation skills;

Ability to establish positive sustainable relationships with suppliers and internal customers;

Experience across multiple businesses, division and/or echnologies;

Having worked in a multi-cultural, multi-lingual, highly matrixed, cross-functional teams and environments.
  
Experience in other direct-material categories such as metals, utilities or others;

Advanced knowledge of SAP and/or PeopleSoft;

Familiarity with e-solutions in professional services area and the use of e-auctions;
